Leptothrix discophora of Late September—12

October 14, 2014

Some of the water is green here because the Leptothrix discophora film is reflecting the green leaves of overhanging tree branches.

  1. Brilliant color in this one. Polarizer?

    • I have one on the camera most of the time, but I don’t always make conscious use of it. Whether it was turned to cut reflections or not turned, I don’t remember. Usually, cutting reflections cancels the interference colors of the Leptothrix discophora film, so probably the polarizer was just sitting there. Thanks for writing, Ken.
