  1. I guess this one really shows the way the shale fractures and flakes, the regularity of it. Very nice shapes, too. You have an eye for finding gorgeous colors wherever you go!

    • Thank you, Lynn. I shot only black and white (film) for many years, then switched to color slide film when my kids started staying up later, leaving me less time alone in my bathroom darkroom. Now I see mostly in color, it seems. From time to time I do find that b&w gives me a better result. Nice to have both options with digital. . . . I do love the way shale behaves, including how it gets wet in the cracks (not apparent in this shot).
