I take it that you are a specialist in biofilm and other such stuff. I always admire people who go down into the details of things and reveal new worlds to us. Therefore I thank you for making images that are more than themselves.

I can’t say that I’m a specialist, but sights that are beautiful frequently make me want to know what makes that beauty, and the evidence of iron bacteria has elicited that reaction in me most strongly. In fact, consulting with a professional biogeologist, I’ve written a book about the iron bacteria that includes, of course, my photographs. (I’ll make an announcement of it soon.)
