Bye-Bye, Begonia 5
December 10, 2017
The first freeze of the season wrung the juice out of the begonia plant onto the sidewalk below, making an interesting pattern.

Excellent composition, Linda. The little touch of pink in the upper corner is really nice. I’m glad you decided to leave it in.

Thanks, Ken. I suppose it might be a distraction from the stains, but the pink flower was just too sweet to eliminate. Glad you like it, too.

What a great composition that is. The pink petals are a real game-changer

I felt really lucky that the flower fell right where it did. Thanks, Andy.

Thanks, Adrian. I never rearrange things, so it’s just pure luck with the petals.

This is a beauty, Linda! Perfectly framed. Besides the subject, colors, lines, textures etc., I love the way this reads as if it were a wall but you know it can’t be. I’m not sure why that is but it’s cool.

Thank you, Lynn. I took many versions of this, but the choice of which to post was pretty easy. I think it reads like a wall because there’s little perspective to it—I leaned way over to get the shot looking straight down. But I think you know it isn’t because if it were, all those leaves and other stuff would fall off!
