Evidence of Iron Bacteria in October 2016—2
November 12, 2016
Sometimes a shadow reveals a less-visible Leptothrix discophora film. Someone explained to me why this happens, but I’m afraid I didn’t quite get it. Perhaps one of you knows and can explain it again?
🙂 I fear that even the explanation would be hard for me to follow! But I wonder if it has anything to do with the quality of light in shadow being more blue, and light in sunlight being more yellow.

Hm. Don’t know, but I don’t think so. Wonder where I put that other explanation . . .

The colour is there but it takes a shadow to reveal it.

I have no idea unfortunately unless it could be something to do with whether light is polarized or not
