This is like looking through Bubble Glass – one of those types of glass that distort the picture but fully allow light through. The effect is special. I saw a reflection just like this two days ago but messed up the shutter speed and got a blurred result. Now that I need glasses to accurately read my back screen but find it too much of a burden to keep fumbling for the glasses every time I shoot an image, I am discovering that the number of dud images due to a failure to check the back screen is getting to be a problem. Aarrgghh. The perils of getting a bit older!

Are you shooting in mirror-up mode and using a tripod? I’ve never done that back-screen thing. Talk about fumbling around. I guess I’m just too lazy. Or maybe you mean you check the back screen after you take the photo (chimping) . . . Either way, I feel your pain about the perils of getting a bit older, and my own pain about it, too.

Mmm, so pretty. I am envying your sun! I know what he’s talking about – forget getting glasses out, I give it a quick look for overall light and composition and move on. But we can’t complain – we can take so many pictures at such high quality these days.

Thanks, Lynn. I’m savoring these last few sunny Ohio days, though today wasn’t one of them . . .
