August 20, 2016
I kept walking on Wildflower Hill Sunday until the path leveled out and turned along Island Pond. (It’s behind the cattails and goldenrod.)

What a lot of wonderful greens. Bertie is always reminding me of all the colors in “green”.

Good for Bertie. I think we get to see the range of green colors more than the range other colors because we see so many plants next to each other. And the blues, for example, don’t always play together as well as the greens. Or the reds. Eek: think of when red shades into pink, which almost never looks good next to a true red. Various yellows are OK together, in my opinion, and even purples. Wonder if my opinions are culturally conditioned. Probably are.
