Home Sweet Home (Hello) 11

August 12, 2016

I wasn’t sure these trees were sumac—I’d never seen sumac growing 30 feet tall—but my botanist husband assured me that they were. They are going to be fun in the fall when they color up. Here what I love are the lines of the bare trunks with the leaves clustered at the top. They make me think of the African acacia trees I’ve seen in photographs.

    • Isn’t it though. I will keep my eye on it. I wonder if it will turn red as soon as the smaller plants. We’ll see! Thanks for commenting, Ilex.

  2. Yes, that open structure is such a great contrast to the leaves – and I apologize for bombarding you with likes and comments all in one sitting. I don’t usually have time to explore during the week these days.

    • Oh, Lynn, I love your comment bombing! Especially glad you like this one. It’s one of those photographs that I was afraid spoke only to me.
