Is This the Catbird Seat?
August 13, 2014
Driving down the road from the old homestead, I almost drove past this kitty in the barn window. There was an easy pull-off place, though, and I stopped. I was able to get off two shots before she jumped down inside the barn. You might enjoy seeing what Wikipedia has to say about catbird seat.

Love the contrasts here. And nice to have a live subject! I bet that barn is for drying tobacco, based on the color.

Thanks, Tamara. I hadn’t thought of the barn’s being used to dry tobacco, but you’re right: it’s the same color as the tobacco-drying barns I’ve seen in Kentucky. The style of barn was not the same, though. I didn’t see any tobacco growing in the fields, but perhaps it did grow there once.
