Thanks, Larry! I just told Clare (see previous comment) that I love to find abstract compositions in nature, but the truth is that I love to find abstract compositions anywhere, everywhere.

Very, very nice…the shadow is fun, but the third photo is my favorite here, for the simple forms and the complex colors. I like seeing those rocks again, at the top – we don’t have much (if any?) of that type of rock around here, at least not in that type of situation. It reminds me a little of Adirondack or other upstate NY scenes. You handle the reflections and exposure so masterfully!

Thank you, Lynn. The shadow shot was fun to take, though I had to take it and the two below it sort of blind, holding my camera out over the bridge to get the kind of photographs I wanted. The rock is sandstone. See http://www.docs.dcnr.pa.gov/cs/groups/public/documents/document/dcnr_20032540~1.pdf. The reflections were a real challenge to handle. I depended on Color Efex Pro a lot, especially the Polarization filter.

It’s interesting to know that filter is helpful; I haven’t used that one very much. Processing choices! They are endless.

I recently read on a photographer’s blog a list of about five different software programs the person used to process a single image. Ach! Not for me, though the Efex suite has an awful lot of sub-plots. I don’t want any more, though. That’s like having a lot of gear. It’s just not my way. Guess I’m a bit lazy that way. 😉
