  1. This has a slightly disorienting tendency to veer off into outer space, like the stone becomes deep water, or some undefinable substance.

    • Maybe it’s that weird partial rectangle that throws things off. How on earth did that happen?

      • Yes – maybe something was set down there for a long time. There was an octagonal mark in the concrete deck floor at our old place when we took away the heavy little concrete pillar/column I put there to hold a plant. We’ll probably get dinged for that, among other things. 🙂 Oh well, maybe someone with imagination will see it and photograph it. 😉

        • That sounds possible. I can’t imagine anything else. Maybe your landlord won’t notice your octagonal mark. 😉

    I especially like this one because it plays with scale so well. Hard to tell if the subject is 1″ across or 10 miles.

    • It seems to be a thing of mine to disregard scale. I don’t really do it on purpose, but I’m glad it suits you, Alan. (In case you want to know: the slab was roughly two feet by three feet.)
