I thought maybe ice, so I checked the tags…glass shards! It broke up in an interesting way – all those similar shapes – I’m looking forward to more glass. I’ve loved glass as a material since I was a child. Transparent but solid, so many contradictions inherent in it.

My mother had a necklace with a bright pink “stone” in it. She never wore it, but I would see it in her jewelry box when I was a kid. When I admired it, she would say, “It’s just glass.” I never understood the “just” part. And I still don’t. I probably love glass more now than ever, partly because of the reflections it can make (and I can photograph). Sorry there were only three photos in this series.

🙂 Interesting story! Value is such a good subject to investigate, and peel away the layers, which you’re always doing – what’s valuable to you, what’s valuable to others, etc. Of course, no need to apologize for the number of images…you get what you can…and you’ll probably find more.
