Two Old Silos
May 1, 2017
It’s hard to say which I like better, old silos or old barns. I found these two the same day I found the barns of the last few posts. I wonder if the orange one was constructed by the same people who made the one that is now part of the Caley Reservation.
What a great pair they make. I love the light on the brick one – it gives such a wonderful feel of 3D

It was still relatively early in the morning when I took this shot—7:36 Eastern Standard Time. (I leave my camera on standard time rather than switch between standard and daylight savings. . . . Does England change time like this in the summer?) I love the early light and wish I could get out even earlier. I only manage it once in a while. Not only do you get more 3D effect, but strong cast shadows can add interesting elements.

We have British Summer Time over here when we go forward an hour – similar thing. I love the early light too, but I don’t like the idea of getting up for it. It’s too many years as a doctor being got up all hours of the night. But I’ll get up early to climb a mountain!

We do have our priorities, don’t we. The reason I don’t go out extra early is that I really want my usual big breakfast every morning, and it takes time to make and eat.
