I wonder if vultures prefer older buildings. It’s where I seem to find them most often—when they aren’t circling overhead.

  1. They’re posing for you. I don’t see them do that out here, and I don’t remember that being a thing in the New York area. A learned regional behavior?

  2. Is it because older deserted buildings are more likely to be home to small rodents – which equates to food?

    • That could be, Andy. This morning I thought of another possible reason. Old buildings may have less intrusion from humans, who might scare them away.
