This is really fascinating – all the levels of detail and pattern, layered on one another and then pressed out flat with a hot iron! I love it. Yes, it must have taken a free mind and sure hand to pull this off.

It took my trying for the umpteenth time to capture the sparkle on the river—and even this time I didn’t think I had it during my first review in Lightroom. I went back to look again later only because I had run out of images to post. It was a very sunny day (at that moment at least: in northern Ohio you can never count on sunshine lasting any period of time), so my hand didn’t have to be all the steady at ƒ18 or whatever it was. I probably also had my ISO cranked up pretty far, though the graininess doesn’t seem to show here.
