These buttercup relatives (lesser celandine or Ranunculus ficaria) were mostly near the river—and they were all over. Botanist David says they are invasive, and websites confirm this. . . . When the nearby trees leaf out, their shadows may not be as interesting.

      Thank you, Andy. At first I thought I was taking a photograph of the flowers, but soon saw that the interest was more in the shadows.

    Me too, love the shadows – I saw a very similar set of shadows on a building in NYC, wrapping around the corner of the building. Soon (I hope!) I will get some photos up.
