Sumac with Goldenrod
December 10, 2015
I’m still in computer hell with my external hard drive, but found this photograph on my internal hard drive. I don’t think I’ve ever posted it. Took it October 29, 2009, not far from where the Vermilion River winds through the Augusta-Anne Olsen State Nature Preserve.

Another buried gem.

Thank you, Kathy. There was a huge field of these spent goldenrod plants with sumac sprinkled throughout.

love the unlikely appearance of red orange leaves in the snowy bushes.

This does look like snow, doesn’t it. Actually, it’s just the dried seed heads of the goldenrod.
