Shale, One Last Time

The river was the lowest I’ve seen it all year Saturday, and I wonder if it will be even lower the next time I see it. These are times that I’m glad my wishes about the weather have no effect on it. Farmers really need the rain, and when it comes, I probably won’t be crossing over to the other side for a while. Meanwhile, I’m still enjoying the shale and the Leptothrix discophora films I find over there.
Romancing Reality 
I like these a lot – like the abstract, geometric but organic feel, of them, as well as the subtle interplay of tones, textures and shape. And stone, whether huge boulders or tiny pebbles, has such character.
Hmmmm – Would you like some of our non-stop Florida rain? If it were possible, we’d be happy to send some and relieve the drought!

Thank you, Charmaine! I fear I may be overstaying my welcome with these shale images, but I love this stuff for the reasons you name.
Sure, we’ll take some of your rain. The restricted area out at the Myakka River State Park must be looking pretty photogenic by now.
