Last Schoepfle Garden Visit of the Year
November 26, 2011
The last trip of the year to Schoepfle Garden always feels nostalgic. In six months, the river and park will look completely different, and I will wonder during those months how they look in snow and ice. My last time to the park was November 6, when a few trees—like the one in the first photo—were still holding on to their leaves. . . . The Back Pond contained many still-life groupings of floating leaves. . . . The river held a few pockets of young Leptothrix discophora. . . . It was sunny, so I got to witness the sun on the ripples of the river. . . . And, finally—didn’t I say I would never take another photograph of a squirrel? Oh well, I couldn’t pass up this little guy, who approached me as if he wanted me to watch him eat his delicious walnut.
