Fall Reflections in the Vermilion River 1

October 27, 2016

When I went to the Schoepfle Garden last Wednesday, it was in hopes of finding great swaths of rainbow-colored Leptothrix discophora films. As usual. But with higher hopes than usual because October has always been a great month for the films. Maybe it was the lingering effects of the summer drought that kept them mostly at bay, but I found only a few this time. Instead, it turned into a day of enjoying the reflections of fall trees in the river—not an altogether bad thing. The clump of trees in the middle of the top of this photograph is on a small island. The river flows around it toward the viewer.
