If You Go to Boston . . .

Because of the kindness of three people, I am privileged (along with 61 other photographers) to be exhibiting a photograph in the Passageway of the Lafayette City Center in Boston. The Passageway links Macy’s with the Hyatt Regency Hotel. The show, Abstraction Attraction, is up now through May 5, 2019. Note that you can see all the photographs online. If you happen to be in the Passageway during this time and see my photo, please let me know! The photographs were selected by Paula Tognarelli, executive director and curator of the Griffin Museum of Photography. Here’s the chosen photo, The Fish Bins of Cortez 38, and a link to other fish-bin photos. Big thanks to Stephen Tomasko, who sent me the entry information, and to my friends Katie Brown and Robert Taylor, who prompted Stephen by telling him that I “was a photographer, too.”

Unfortunately, I’m not going to Boston to see the show. I have a friend whose daughter lives near Boston, and I’m hoping she will visit while the show is up, can talk her daughter into going with her to the Lafayette City Center Passageway, and then take a photo with her cell phone. It’s a lot to ask for!

I wish I could see it….and I’m very happy for you. It’s great that the show is up for so long. It reproduced well here – the light is like sunshine – and I trust the print is great.

Thank you, Lynn. The print did come out well, I’m happy to say. But I always prefer the look of back-lit photographs on a computer. Still, there’s something special about a print.

The way photos look on computers is addictive, I think. I loved the slide shows we used to have when I was a kid, after vacations. Those projection screens did amazing things with light. At the same time, there’s something wonderful about the substance of a print, and paper is good stuff. 🙂
