The light makes me think this soldering job was really tough, required much effort, but that’s probably not true. Anyway, I like the effect.

Me, too. Did you notice all the little splatters of the filler metal around the main patch? I like those. One of the joys of photography is that you get to look at something more intently and often for a longer period of time than you do in person. I didn’t notices those little blobs when I took the photograph. (I wrote “filler metal” because I’m not sure it’s called solder. See http://www.machinedesign.com/fasteners/whats-difference-between-soldering-brazing-and-welding.)
