I like this series, Linda. I posted a familiar shot today 😉 It’s a comforting thought that when I won’t be able to hike those mountains, I can find familiar beauty in the house…

Exactly. I’ve thought that so often myself, Harrie. And when we can’t even do that, we can work on the photos we took in years past. There’ll always be something. Sometimes, when I don’t have a camera with me, I just say to myself “click” when I see something that would make a good photograph. Somehow, even that is satisfying.

Well said, Harri. I had developed a serious knee problem that prohibited me from hiking the trails that inspired me. I tried to utilize my time on familiar ground, close to home. After surgery, I’m in much better shape but the lesson for me was that good photos are wherever you are and whatever camera you have with you.

You will love them, Ken. Maybe you could make a portable frame for them, and move them from room to room, window to window.

Well now I’m feeling jealous of your sun….we’ve hardly had any for weeks. But seriously, this is beautifully rendered, with the kind of attention one would give a charcoal pencil drawing of the same subject.

No, don’t be jealous. Not only is this photo from 2008, but it’s also from Florida! Actually we’ve had a few very surprising days of at least partial sun in Ohio in the last week. It won’t last, but then I leave soon for Sarasota. This was my favorite of the blinds photos, so I’m extra glad you like it, Lynn.

I’ve not been keeping up very well with my ‘followers’ of late, sorry. But I like this series. There are blinds in our house too and I have also photographed the light filtering through the slats – we don’t need to travel far to find images – they can be even on the wall beside the bed.

Aren’t blinds fun. I took a few more photos of them today, now that I’m where (our place in Florida) they make such interesting patterns. I love finding photographs so close by. Well, close by when I’m in Florida!
