I like the way the dried leaves drape across this log, and the little twigs – crunch!

You know, I can’t verbally justify this photograph. All I know is that as I approached it as I was going down he path, it called to me. That’s it. I think it was the blackish-and-whitish look amongst all the brown and green. But I also thought the brown leaves on top of the log were somehow sweet. Sometimes I think we just have to accept that we love something without knowing why.

I love this shot – the subdued colours and the naturalness of the subject. The way the log feels nestled into that bed of leaves.
