     Thank you, Ken! Merry Christmas to you! Now that I’ve seen photographs (online) of these trees in leaf, I’m even gladder that I caught them leafless. Also, what I saw online was a single tree, not a grove. When they’re in groves, apparently, is when they get such funky skeletons.

   I concur – love these dancers that could be under water! Pop ash – I’ve heard of it, I think, maybe because I used to live in NC.

     Thanks, Lynn. They do look like dancers. I have a photo of some of these trees I took elsewhere at the Myakka River State Park that look even moreso. It’s here somewhere on the blog, but probably from years and years ago.
