Home Sweet Home (Hello) 1

July 4, 2016

Last evening I took a two-minute walk to the nearest of several ponds that we share with neighbors at our new place. I could hear the bullfrogs and another frog whose sound we didn’t hear at the pond at our old place—or was that the mallards quacking?

What a beautiful sunset over tranquil water! Are you already there? Enjoy the delights that open around you. Your latest photos of your “old place” were evocative of many good memories. Good times ahead…

    • Yes, Patricia, we are here. Still moving some stuff out of the old place, but have slept here since Thursday. I love the light in our new abode! Glad the photos of the old place brought back good memories.

  3. Ponds nearby! Yes! I can’t wait to hear about the trials and tribulations of the move…and then to see your explorations. Congrats on getting the big part done.

    • One bit of advice: If you think you will ever move to a place smaller than the place you’re living in now. begin getting rid of stuff immediately. Even though we’re officially in the new place, we’re still moving leftover stuff from the old place—and wondering where to put it. I’ve even started taking stuff back to the old place to get rid of in the “estate” sale. The move itself was a piece of cake. The moving guys were great. Yes, I’m looking forward to many explorations around here—and to getting back to the Vermilion River, which I have missed.

      • Nice that you had a mostly positive moving experience – it can be so difficult. We did move to a smaller place this last time, and it’s been tough! I hope to have a little more space next time but I know (deeply!) that no matter what size the space, the stuff grows to fit, and then keeps growing! ;;-)

    • Thank you, Joshi. The light was so beautiful, but I don’t shoot in this kind of light very often. Was surprised that I was able to get the color right in processing.
