Thanks, Ken. It took me a while to see this one, though I’d been looking at the tree for some time. And even after I saw my composition, I second guessed myself. Thank goodness I third guessed myself. I’m quite happy with it.

To me, this is pure lusciousness. I love it. I love the way my eye keeps going back and forth between the epiphytes (?) in the background and that beautifully lit palm frond. And then the bark texture…

I’m so glad you like this one, Lynn. It’s a kind of unusual composition, I think, but it felt absolutely right to me. Yes, those epiphytes are bromeliads (some kind of tilansia, I think) and resurrection ferns. And I think that plant growing up the front part of the trunk at the right is smilax. They have thorns and are a literal pain to encounter on a trail or tramping through the brush. I probably should have burned the light-colored part of the trunk in the bottom right.
