Clay Gully Origin 1

March 22, 2015

Last month husband David and I went with two friends to the Myakka River State Park to trace Clay Gully up through one of its tributaries to an enchanted place where the tributary seemed to originate in a marsh. David and I had discovered this spot a couple of weeks earlier and were eager to show our friends. Unlike the path leading there, this area was pretty much devoid of underbrush, and a grove of large oak trees gave it a sheltered feeling. I’ve still not captured the feeling of the place and will have to go back and try again. I post the first three photographs in this 10-photo series just to give a possible hint. I took the first two the time David and I went alone. Today’s photograph is one I fooled with more than usual in Lightroom. I was trying to convey the dreamy feeling of the place. After these three, the rest of the photographs in the series are close-ups of the small stream just before the marsh area.
