    interesting colors. akin to the pinks and blues you capture on the water.

    • Thanks. The orange is exactly the same color as the iron-bacteria flocs I see at the river because they are both iron oxide. I have no idea what makes the blue in this photograph. I’m 99 percent certain it isn’t the interference color of a thin film (as is the blue in a biofilm of Leptothrix discophora, and it doesn’t look as green as copper oxide. Whatever it is, I’m glad I got to see it.

    • Thank you, Lynn. A friend says it feels Egyptian. It does recall ancient Egyptian necklaces, I think.
