A Good Sign 1
August 1, 2014
Over the years I have photographed signs that have caught my eye, making me laugh, think, or puzzle. Today begins a short series from this collection. You may find it fun to compare this photograph to the second one in the post of July 28.
Update: For commentary on this post, see the next day’s post.
I can see the resemblance to the shale photo and I have lot of imagination, but – at least this evening – I do not know what the sign means. Maybe it is because English is not my native language . . . what does it mean? don’t bring porcupines inside …?! (this is an instance of ‘a place I’ve never been’ as Mark Strand says.)

I love your comment, Vera! Please see my explanation, such as it is, in the next post, “A Good Sign 2.”

I think I too need an interpretation – but maybe that shouldn’t really be provided. My mind is a little scrambled this early in the morning.

Hi, Andy. You won’t find a real interpretation, but I do give some context in today’s post, “A Good Sign 2.”

My goodness! You’re absolutely right! Thanks for demystifying the sign, David.
