Whenever I go to Schoepfle Garden, the hunt is always on for evidence of the iron bacteria. Often when it’s visible, though, it’s unremarkable. On those days, as on this past Sunday, I hope to find something else compelling enough to photograph. Sunday the shale riverbank, its colors brought out by recent rain, captivated me.
