First Spring Walk to the River
September 16, 2013
I love that first walk with my camera after I get back to Ohio. Anticipation of the freshness of things even gets me moving a bit earlier than usual, and I catch more of the early light, as shown in this first photograph, taken on my walk down to the Vermilion River May 25. I also notice things I had never noticed before, like this empty sign outside an empty clothing factory on my route. The blobs are lichens. The way the paint has cracked reminds me of the way the Leptothrix discophora films have cracked in these photographs (post of August 13, 2011, fifth and seventh shots).
