As you may guess from my absence here, I have not been finding photographs lately. The sun hasn’t been right, or it’s been raining, I just didn’t like what I saw, or—worst of all—I didn’t feel like taking photographs. But something was right Sunday. In my walk to the Vermilion River I seemed to fall in love with everything, especially rocks and flowers. It had rained the day and night before, but that wet space was preceded by a dry spell, and SUNday lived up to its name. I’m crediting my photographic haul (I got off 275 shots) to the weather; my neighbor who, chatting with me on my way down the road, told me I might find something good; and Janet, who, the day before sent me photos of hers that were inspiring.
