Beautiful pictures and structure and it is great to see so many people hard at work in their capitol.

Thanks, Ron. People really were at work; their offices are pretty mundane looking, judging from the peek I had into one of them. I’m excluding the governor’s office, or at least the governor’s conference room in that description. It is over the top. My photos of it weren’t that good. Maybe I’ll have better luck next time.

A very nice series overall, with the previous post – and the third and fourth images here are really singing to me. The play of shapes and the depth in the third image is excellent – what a terrific composition you found. The fourth manages to show great respect for the work itself, and I like the straight-on approach. The lighting in all of them is beautifully handled.

Thanks, Lynn. It was pretty easy to find compositions in this building—especially my kinds of composition. A little while ago I looked at some photographs of the Minnesota State Capitol and noticed that more-official kinds of photos of important buildings don’t look like mine. The photographers don’t really have the luxury of shooting what they like; they need to show the rooms in a more documentary way. The Minnesota State Capitol, by the way, looks a lot like the Wisconsin State Capitol.
