These grasses look stately, almost towering like trees. I like the very subtle diagonal – at first everything seems mainly symmetrical, front and center, but then the drift is seen…

My reply isn’t here. Something must have happened to it. All I said, I think, is that I usually photograph things straight on, so the subtle diagonal is either accidental or subconscious. Either way, I’m glad you like it. I think grass is overlooked, underrated, and overshorn.

Thank you, Ken. Isn’t it fun what we learn from each other? A bazillion years ago I saw a record-album cover, a painting, that was signed by the artist. The signature was Grashov. That looks Russian to me, and my guess is that at some point a Grashof moved to Russia and made his (or her, but not likely) name look more Russian.

A bazillion years ago I bought this album:
and the cover (as well as the music) had a profound influence on me. I love the simplicity of the artwork and the complexity of the music. I still listen to the MJQ.

The beautiful simplicity of the design makes me think of Apple products. (Right now I’m listening to Walter Isaacson’s biography of Steve Jobs.) You aren’t saying that this album art is signed by Grashov, are you? In any case, I’m enjoying listening to the music. Thanks.

I went to see the MJQ at the RIT Aud. years ago, the only live performance I saw them. I remember it was very cold outside but the warmth inside was unbelievable.

Thanks, Mic. Too bad everyone doesn’t let their grass go to seed.
