Maybe you had to grow up in the Detroit area to hear boys yell that out when they saw a cool car. Probably they wouldn’t have yelled out at this one, though. I, however . . .

Apparently my car looked like that underneath, horrifying the innocent Washington car dealer who bought it in a trade – oh well, what do you expect from the northeast – or the midwest?

I once worked, temporarily, with a woman who was born and raised in California who said, when she was asked it she would like to move to Ann Arbor permanently, “No! I don’t want my car to get all rusty!” That struck us midwestern coworkers as pretty funny.
