Cortez, Exhaust Flapper
June 16, 2014
The Salisbury Exhaust Gard, shown here, is a brand of exhaust flapper, part of a boat. According to a YouTube posting “The intent of these is to keep back wash water out of the engine cylinders when the boat is stopped suddenly and engine cut.” Little danger in this case, as the boat has been resting on dry land in Cortez, Florida, for some time, some very long time. The Salisbury Exhaust Gard apparently starts out all black. This one got dressed up when the boat owner painted the boat.

Probably still works, too. But let’s not find out!

I think that’s a good idea, Ken.
